Wayward Strand Game Review

Wayward Strand is an affecting, empathetic narrative game, woven together from many distinct threads, all of which take place simultaneously on an airborne medical facility in the 1970s Australia.
With Wayward Strand you play as Casey Beaumaris, a teenage girl that is in an institution for very first time. The game will explore the history of the ship, its characters, and relationships between them over the next three days.
On board, she’ll be able visit the rooms of the ship’s eccentric and wonderful residents. She will be able to choose the people she’d like to spend the time with, and learn about them. Staff members can serve as shadows as you look around. Or it is possible to explore the ship for a deeper understanding of its past.
The patients at the hospital are a diverse group, with a wide range of personality types – some are charming while some are less so – each having their own dreams, desires, and imaginations. Residents can do what they’d like to do, regardless of the persona of their character.
The three-day stay Casey spends on the ship allows her to be a part of the lives of others, who Casey could then research. Every character acts and moves independently with their own unique timeline sharing their news with each other, opinions; arguing with each other, joking and gossiping and even chatting with Casey at times when she is passing by.
